Back in early November I had the opportunity to dine at one of Calgary's most fine dining restaurants,
Chef's Table, located in the charming and luxurious
Kensington Riverside Inn. It was a fabulous evening of great food and wine, top-notch service and cozy ambiance. Just what my girlfriends and I were needing on a cold winter's November night. Yes, November, which is technically still fall right? NOT winter. I digress...

Whilst staying in the Var region of Provence, Guillaume and I decided to head down to Saint Tropez one evening for the sunset. Neither one of us had visited the infamous hot spot so touted by celebrities and who's who of the world, so we thought it would be fun to check it out. "We'll just go to go" is what we said, thinking it would be completely an over the top, look at me kind of place, but we were actually pleasantly surprised with the old town and its multi-billion dollar harbour. A little glamour is never a bad thing, right? Having decided to forgo dinner we opted instead to just have a leisurely evening walk in and amongst the streets, whilst capturing the sunset on the pier. A fabulous spot for shopping and people watching, Saint Tropez definitely has its charm.

Is it really the end of August
already? I'm not sure about you, but this summer has flown by. Just the other day I noticed how much cooler the evenings are getting compared to a month ago. I am NOT ready for the on-set of fall! Didn't we just get summer?!? Please let me have at least four more weeks of hot and humid summer nights filled with long bike rides, visits with friends, and one too many bottles of rosé wine. Welcome to California Wine Country!
There is just something about this area that keeps me wanting to come back for more. I know, I've said that before, but... it's true! Last time we were there it was for a full week which was really the perfect amount of time. Well, actually, it's never enough time but we were able to do & see quite a bit with a week. I am so looking forward to another quick visit coming up in September, but for now, I can share what I've seen so far. Hope this post entices you to visit if you have not already been! :)

I love San Francisco. Have you been? It's another one of those places that begs to be revisited often, at least once a year. Do I visit once a year? No, no I don't but I will! California is a feel-good kind of state in general but San Francisco really feels good, at least for me. A combination of the great people, relaxed attitude, local food culture and all around creativeness of the city is I think, what makes it so special. As a tourist, there are many great things to see and do whilst visiting. Whether it's Fisherman's wharf, Alcatraz, Chinatown, Union Square, the Golden Gate, or a quick trip to wine country (which I'll write about next), there really is something for everyone. For me, it's the amazing food & wine culture and top-notch restaurant scene (surprise, surprise) that gets me most excited. Let's go!
